Some studies have shown that regular coffee drinkers have a 25 percent lower risk of premature death than non-coffee drinkers. - Coffee also may lower your risk of Parkinson’s disease.
One study followed almost 7,000 women and men over 22 years and found that the coffee drinkers had a much lower risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. - Never want to get gallstones? Coffee may help keep them at bay.
The Health Professionals Follow-Up Study tracked the coffee consumption of more than 46,000 men over 10 years and found – after adjusting for factors that are known to create gallstones – that those who drink caffeinated coffee had a significantly lower chance of developing gallstones. Another study looked at women and concluded the same. - Lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by drinking coffee.
The Nurses’ Health Study looked at more than 125,000 women and tracked their coffee consumption as well as new cases of type 2 diabetes over 18 years. The study found that those women who drank more than six cups of coffee a day reduced their risk of developing the disease by almost 30 percent. Other studies indicate that drinking decaffeinated coffee has the same preventive effect. - Drink coffee and you could lower your risk of stroke.
Drink two-four cups of your favorite premium, organic coffee and you could lower your risk of stroke. (The lower risk is associated with coffee consumption.)
