3 Ways to Use Your Coffee Knowledge to Your Advantage

April 25, 2017 admin

You’re the type of coffee lover who knows a lot about coffee: you know its origins, its many benefits, how to roast beans yourself, how to make a latte at home, and more.

Put this knowledge to good use. Here are some ideas as to how, below.

Impress that cute coffee aficionado you’ve had your eye on.

You see him or her often at your favorite coffee shop or café. She or he appears quite knowledgeable about coffee, possibly as much as you. You know you’ll need to be totally on your game if you meet for coffee, so before you ask him or her out, do a bit of brushing up. Study Barista Magazine, Daily Coffee News, and so on. Make sure you know the difference between Espresso, Doppio and Ristretto, etc.

Don’t be a know-it-all, of course: let your date have the chance to shine and impress you with his or her own knowledge.

But two coffee lovers with a fondness for coffee minutiae? It’s a match made in heaven, in our opinion.

Brew coffee perfectly at home and save a ton of money.

The more you know coffee, the more you know what constitutes good coffee, how to store it, how to prepare it, and so on.

Purchase the best specialty, organic coffee you can afford, brew it at home and you will save a not inconsiderable amount of money each year.

Get a job in your favorite café or coffee shop.

Put that coffee knowledge to good use and get a job as a barista or as a server in a coffee shop. Yes, you may not have professional experience making coffee, but don’t let that deter you. To get a job as a barista/café worker, try the following:

  1. Become a regular because café owners do like to hire frequent buyers.
  2. You could start as a cashier and ask to be trained as a barista on your off hours. You even could offer to work for free and learn barista skills that way.
  3. Consider working for a chain instead of your favorite independent café: many chains have training programs for customer-service oriented individuals with an eye for detail.
  4. Watch videos to learn different coffee-preparing techniques and practice these skills at home.

If you’d rather not work in a café, but still dream of earning money from your love of coffee, consider becoming an independent distributor of Ubean Coffee.
